03What no license includes
Consulting, onboarding calls, custom setup, or managed project analysis.
Custom formulas, custom deployment, or bespoke reporting.
Custom branding, white-labeling, or client portals.
BidVariance is deliberately self-service: if you can fill in the three estimates per task,
you can run it. The calculation chain behind every figure is documented in the
methodology.
Work browser-first from then on; the key is perpetual and re-activates on any device.
No account is created and no project data is ever uploaded. Activation sends only your
license key and product id to verify entitlement. Payments, receipts, and refunds are
handled entirely by Gumroad.
05Frequently asked
Is this a subscription?
No. Every BidVariance license is a one-time purchase. You keep using the version you bought; minor updates are included.
How is the license delivered?
Checkout and licensing run through Gumroad. You receive a license key by email and activate BidVariance in your browser.
Do I have to enter my key again?
Not on a device you keep activated. The license is re-checked with Gumroad automatically every few days in the background, so you enter the key once per browser. You need it again after deactivating, on a new browser, or if you chose not to keep a shared computer activated.
What happens if a purchase is refunded or charged back?
The license stops unlocking BidVariance at its next background check, usually within three days. Projects stay in the browser and can still be exported.
Where does my project data live?
In your browser (IndexedDB). BidVariance is local-first: simulations, project data, and reports are produced on your machine. Only the license key itself is sent for verification.
Can I use one license for my whole team?
Pro covers one user. Business covers up to five internal users in one legal entity; each person activates the same key in their own browser. Consultant covers client work for one consultancy but does not include white-labeling.
What does scenario comparison add?
Business and Consultant save any run as a named scenario — the original bid, a reduced scope, a later start — and compare up to four side by side: odds of loss, target margin and deadline, cost and finish percentiles and the minimum quote, with overlaid curves, the best value per row marked and a CSV or printed export for the review.
What is not included?
Consulting, onboarding calls, custom setup, custom formulas, custom deployment, bespoke reporting, custom branding, white-labeling, client portals, and managed analysis are not part of any license.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled through Gumroad’s policies. If activation genuinely fails for you, contact us via the Gumroad purchase page.
